Our client, a large food and household products retailer operating on a national scale, is looking for Trainee Retail Managers to join their training program while being exposed to all the areas of retail. The position is ideal for anyone looking to gain experience in the FMCG retail environment, who is hardworking and has leadership potential.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Working in various departments within the retail environment in order to gain a sound understanding of the daily operations in order to learn how to effectively manage the challenges of the department in order to obtain success, not only in the one department but also the overall success of the business
Completing various tests to show that the necessary understanding of each department has been obtained
Completing tasks and shadowing various role players on all levels
Resolving problems in various departments
Working with management in order to do operational planning
Minimum Qualifying Criteria:
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
3 year Bachelors Degree
The ability to learn from various teaching methods
Tenacity, perseverance and the ability to work under pressure
Experience in a retail environment would be advantageous
Willingness to work various shifts a week with different hours
Excellent organisational skills
Hard-working and enthusiastic
