Accounting Firm Manager - SMEs (Northern Suburbs, Cape Town)

Managing the Accounting and Financial Management Functions for various local SMEs in the Western Cape, our client has an exciting opportunity available for an Accounting Firm Manager to head their operations. This individual will take over the existing SME accounts and manage them on a daily basis with the relevant senior management teams and owners of these entities while meeting with new clients from time to time in order to expand the business.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Management of the full finance function for various small, micro and medium entities, including trusts
Managing the relationships with various role players to ensure the smooth running of operations for various entities
Meeting with prospective clients from time to time in order to expand the business activities in accordance with instructions from the director
Responsible for the integrity of the financial records and Financial Statements
Review business budgets and forecasts
Authorising and provisioning payments; including salaries, service providers, client accounts, debit orders, etc.
Ensure monthly/quarterly deliverables are completed in line with deadlines
Review and approve monthly general ledger reconciliations
Coordinates the preparation of the external audit materials
Directs internal audits involving the review of accounting, project and operational departments
Prepare/review/manage and assess detailed annual budget for companies and departments
Prepare and review financial reports for management meetings
Prepare insurance declarations
Review weekly cash flow forecasts and evaluate and investigate variances
Prepare annual tax return schedules and tax calculations
Management and review of the monthly VAT submission
Review and approve statutory statutory/government returns (example SARB returns)
Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
Manage external service providers
Submission of BBBEE certificate details as required
Minimum Qualifying Criteria:
Integrity, values & principles with a focus on transparency and commitment
BAcc Degree / Bcom Hons Financial Management
3 Years Experience in Accounting/Financial Management with proven track record
Experience in working with a variety of corporate structures & trusts
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Self-motivated, targeted result and deadline drive
Advance Excel & Pastel skills
Language Proficiency in English & Afrikaans
